Daphne Wonaeamirri was born in Darwin in 1984. She grew up and went to primary school in Pirlangimpi. She went to High School at Mount Saint Bernards in Herberton, Queensland. Daphne then moved back to Garden Point and worked at the local store and in her lunch breaks she went to Munupi Art Centre and created her paintings. Daphne worked at Munupi Art Centre as an Arts Worker in 2021 and then she moved to Darwin.
